Smart Strategic Planning Equals Smart Growth Awards for Rockport Square
Rockport Square was recently presented with two Smart Growth Community Excellence Awards. Recognizing builders, developers and community organizations that follow smart growth principles in residential construction, winners are chosen from entries representing an 11-county area of Northeast Ohio.
Rockport Square was awarded Best Smart Growth Multi-Family Development and Best Smart Growth Development Proposal at the April 4th awards ceremony. The Awards are presented by the Smart Growth Education Foundation on the basis of the development’s land conservation, environmental sensitivity, use of infrastructure, housing choices, community character, transportation accessibility, economic viability and overall design.

Rockport Website Wins Award
The Rockport Square website was recently recognized by the Interactive Media Council. The website received an Outstanding Achievement award in the Real Estate category.
The Rockport Square website excelled in all areas of judging criteria and represented a very high standard of professionalism, planning and execution. Judges utilized a points-based scoring system, which allowed each entry to receive a maximum of 500 points using five specific criteria, with a score from 0-100 awarded for each criterion.

Community Involvement
Rockport Square serves as Publisher Sponsor for Lakewood Library’s Gala
Rockport Square recently offered their support to the Lakewood Public Library’s expansion project by serving as the Publisher sponsor of the grand opening gala—“Be the first to see the best.”
The gala, which hosted over 500 people, provided the community a premiere of the expansion phase one. This expansion will increase the size of the library from 55,000 square feet to 93,000 square feet. Interior renovations will include larger areas for children’s services, technology and audio-visual services, as well as increased amounts of public seating and greater shelving capacity. New additions to the library include a grand reading room, quiet room, auditorium and multipurpose room. What’s more, parking spaces will also increase to approximately 62 spaces. Join Rockport at the Lakewood Community Festival
Rockport Square will be sponsoring the Lakewood Community Festival September 8th, 2007. Join us in supporting the community’s diverse ethnic and cultural heritage at the festival, which will feature food, games, prizes and entertainment for the whole family. The festival will begin at 11:00am and end at 5:00pm. Rain date is September 15th.
